a post for "new, fresh things"
RUGERAN: OC. A mouthy little featherdragon who wasn't always little or feathery, but doesn't remember the specifics of that because of not-so-convenient amnesia. Met a birdman with a sad past and embarked on a long, grueling quest to restore glory to both of their peoples by putting the god that cursed them out of commission. Hates gods and bureaucracy, loves food, loves talking, is very cuddly and boy does he know it.
CLAIR: Authoritative, often harsh-tongued Gym Leader of Blackthorn City. A proud warrior and member of the Dragon Clan, her skill is nothing to be scoffed at...but even so, she can be a tad too reckless when her honor is on the line.
MEWTWO: Intelligent, powerful, and Legendary in stature. Once a wanderer searching for answers, now a hunter out for the blood of the one who dared lay a hand on his allies. Made friends in Luceti. Protective of those he feels he shares things in common with.
MAYLENE: The exceptionally young but serious and determined Gym Leader of Veilstone City. Has prodigious skill in martial arts and in training Fighting-type Pokemon - in both, she makes up for raw power with skill and blinding speed. Has money problems due to a father who gambles too much.
HO-OH: Fandom OC. A boy destined to someday become the majestic rainbow sunbird Ho-oh, herald of the morn and divine symbol of life. Has trouble living up to this expectation and self-image issues from considering himself a means to a feathery end rather than a person with a valuable life. Can't actually revive things, but can make plants grow in weird-but-pretty colors. Is looked after by monks and lives in a tower with a few companion Pokemon and a bunch of fat freeloader Pidgey. pb is some dude from dynasty warriors idr his name don't judge me
TYRANITAR/GIRATINA/EARTHCARVER/TYRATINA/DEATHZILLA/???: ....uh
WINONA: The dutiful Gym Leader of Fortree City, known as the "graceful sky dancer". Replies will be slow because I'm building her icon set as I go. A capable authority figure who's survived through a cataclysmic event in her home region.
pick your poison, make a scenario or take one off a meme or leave it up to me to think of one, whatever you want i'm golden
i'm up for just about anything. involuntary worldhoppingventures, inexplicable memeverses, mock-DWRPgame-verses, whatever. my only line is no smut.

That would be entirely correct. With that said, I suppose introductions are in order...
[...really, he isn't about to think much of any Servant he summons, but if this makes it easier to wheedle out his Servant's identity in the event that she was the guarded sort...]
I am Lord Kayneth El-Melloi, the ninth head of the illustrious House Archibald. And you, then... what is your class, and what is your true identity?
no subject
Is that how this is done?
[She lifts her head, peering down at him over her nose.]
It seems my name for this strange game...is Harper. But I was always called Earthcarver, little lord.
no subject
-but really, there's one thing standing out to him, above any of the other incongruities here...]
Harper? Are you some sort of... bard, then?
no subject
Do not fret, little lord. A Harper will not disappoint.
no subject
[THAT WAS GRATING ON HIM, EVEN IF IT'S ACCURATE...]
Furthermore, I can't say I've heard of your legend, either-what is it that you even do?
no subject
[it's obvious she's gonna have to be the fun one in this team, you seem like a goddamn fun vacuum]
Aah, certainly you have heard of me...by a different name, perhaps. I have had a great many.
[She takes a few lumbering steps foward, testing her gait, and stands to her full height of about nine feet.]
Erebus and Xibalba, Hel, Ammut, Abaddon...these have fared better over the ages. You must be familiar with these.
no subject
...he just summoned a god of death holy shit
is that even kosher who cares though
just... act composed... and not like a kid who just got a Nintendo 64 for Christmas... SO HE'LL JUST LOOK REALLY SMUG]
...Is that so? This is even better than I could have hoped for, then.
no subject
[She pats her chest. With such stubby forelimbs, it looks a little silly...but would you laugh at Death?]
But to further business. I imagine this Master still has much to say.
no subject
no subject
I am all ears. Let us go and conspire.
[you've got to have a cooler place ready for scheming, right]
no subject
We should relocate to somewhere a little more comfortable for that. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that way, of course...
[...this cooler place will be where they gently handwave sola interaction because what is doing a three person thread]
no subject
she also has the good manners to hum appreciatively at the architecture and setup going on wherever here is. oh, she missed being tangible enough for things like this.]
no subject
that would be just his luck for this particular universe wouldn't it
and yes, kayneth has a pretty sweet house. ...estate. ...thing. being fabulously wealthy has its perks! LOOK AT ALL THOSE THINGS OF HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE.
anyway, they'll stop in his study, which has nice chairs and a ton of books and is very posh and organized]
no subject
Earthcarver adores these kinds of things. The shows of wealth, the emblems and symbols and bearers of sentiment that humans squirrel away and value and associate themselves with. It's the kind of adoration one has for the entertaining foolishness of a kitten.
She manages to squeeze herself into the study...somehow (some subtle alteration of form may have been involved), and settles down in the first open floorspace she reaches.]
Aahh. [Her gaze sweeps slowly across the room and its contents.] I think I had some luck in this fateful gamble.
[Probably not quite the compliment it sounds like, there.
You have potential. She's going to have all kinds of fun with you.]
no subject
...even if it isn't actually a compliment...]
Can that not be said for both of us? It's highly unlikely that we won't win.
no subject
[Her expression shifts, grin flattening.]
Hasty words hasten misfortune, dear Master. I would not take for granted that I am the only strange thing afoot. What is it that is said? "No such thing as a coincidence"?
[She shrugs and shakes her head.]
Not that I doubt myself. There is one thing, after all, which devours man, matter, and memory alike. If a Hero lives in this time, then it has only to be met a second time.
[oh look the grin is back]
no subject
[He pauses for a moment, because what exactly are the implications of that...]
What do you speak of that could rival Death itself, anyway?
no subject
[She sighs in irritation, tossing her head back.] You must understand the nature of a Servant. [A reality defined by perception.] Man once walked with Death as though with a trusted friend. Where did such days go?
[She looks back down again, squinting at Kayneth.] So you see, dear Master, there is enough to worry about. It is too popular a thing for heroes to have their luck against me. I may have to leave aside the jaws of the Devourer for something more insidious, if one of our opponents is so fortunate. [sniff.]
no subject
I am aware of that, yes-but, of course, even the heroes that were theoretically immortal are remembered for the fact that they died despite that. If we can puzzle out all the other Servants' identities, we can bypass the abilities protecting them.
As for the masters... well. Doesn't that wall you are talking about lead to hubris?
[...KAYNETH IF YOU WERE AT ALL SELF-AWARE]
no subject
[...YOU ARE SO CUTE, GODDAMN]
Haaa. So a wise man once said.
[That grin is back. She chuckles, tilting her head down to watch Kayneth. What questions does he have for her?]
no subject
he'll just get really indignant
...like he will whenever he expects he's being made fun of...]
What are the limitations of your abilities, anyway? Or, more generally, how will they function within a combat situation to begin with?
[It was something he really wouldn't have to ask under normal circumstances given how familiar with legend he was, but he wasn't really going to complain much about that.]
no subject
rolls shoulders, flexes claws.] If I am to move quickly, it may only be within the reach of a lunge - price paid for hide like fortress walls. [i am cool] Whatever falls between my jaws meets its utter end. Nothing that is Devoured may return in any capacity.
[sniff...] It also seems that my senses are befitting of a patient hunter such as I. Neither man nor Servant should be equipped to conceal themselves from me.
no subject
So your jaws could be considered your Noble Phantasm, then? If that's the case, it seems as though our best course of action would be to specialize in traps. With your skill, that shouldn't be too difficult to for me to arrange...
[The only issue is whether or not he's quite good enough to hit Heroic Spirits for long enough that it would be at all effective, but given that he's free to use his own mana for whatever...]
no subject
Oh, no. There is a Phantasm yet, separate from the simple properties of Death's own self. It is...hmm. A Harper's "song for death".
[She moves as though to stand, but instead of rising to her feet, holds out her claw. Something like a hunting horn appears in it, but it appears to be carved from stone rather than antler, with bands of obsidian and dark opal laid into its surface.]
To invoke the knowledge of death that all things have, and make them aware of it...to seize through the haughty with fear and seize through the departed with vigor. Death's envoys, latent or imminent, respond to her summons.
[so, in short: skeleton soldiers and scaring the piss out of people.]
no subject
Well, I can certainly imagine that will be useful. I'm looking forward to seeing this in action.
